Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe genetic disorder affecting newborn boys. While they typically succumb to respiratory or cardiac failure in their mid-20’s, Sarepta Therapeutics is working to create an approved treatment using gene therapy that may help them live longer and more comfortably. This video illustrates the Mechanism of Disease (MOD) to help doctors, payers and caregivers better understand the scientific complexities of this heartbreaking disorder.
